The Gilmore Centre - for rural health improvement is committed to improving the health and access to health care of rural and remote populations.

The Centre for Cultural Risk Research is concerned with the ways in which concepts of risk permeate all dimensions of people's lives in contemporary western societies.

Agriculture

The Ron Potter Centre for Grape and Wine Research is comprised of the National Wine and Grape Industry Centre,the Winery and the School of Wine and Food Sciences

The Cooperative Research Centre for Viticulture aims to extend Australia's lead in international grape production and processing technology by focussing the research, extension and education efforts in viticulture for dried fruits, table grapes and wine grapes.

Rural Environment

The management of ecosystems and protected areas is the focus of the Johnstone Centre's teaching and research programs. The research examines the relationships between public policy, biodiversity conservation, community development and management of our natural resources.

Technology

The Centre for Spatial Analysis (SPAN) supports research, education and consultancy in the areas of Geographic information systems, remote sensing and spatial statistics. SPAN has the capability to process and interpret large digital data sets, such as satellite imagery, airborne video imagery, gis and mapping data, census data.

Internet research and training support to rural communities is provided by the Internet Special Projects Group through its partnerships with business, education and government.

The management of data and information in our society and the economy the focus of the Knowledge Management Group (KMG).
